Lavanya's Fried rice

Fry green beans, carrot, bell peppers in butter and oil in high flame

Then add salt and soy sauce and cook for few more minutes.

Then add lots of chopped cabbage and green onion and white pepper powder and sauté for 1 or 2 minutes. 

Then add cooked rice and adjust for salt

 Key is white pepper powder and cooking the vegetables for less time

Manju's Saffron Rice

2 cups long grain rice

2.5 cups water


Soak the rice for half an hour.

In a cup, take some warm milk and soak lots of saffron and a little turmeric.

In oil and butter, Add Cinnamon, Clove, Shahi Jeera and Cardamom.

Then add soaked rice and fry.

Fry thinly sliced onions and keep aside.

Add water, saffron milk and a few drops of kewra essence. Add salt to taste.

Once done, add the fried onions and sliced almonds (raisins too if you like).
